This sticky rice recipe calls for just a few simple ingredients:
2-3 fresh and ripe mangoes
1 cups of glutinous rice or sticky rice
1½ cup coconut milk
5 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt
Pandan leaves
*Other than mangoes, you may use durian for this delicacy.
How to make sticky rice?
Here are the simple steps to cook sticky glutinous rice:
Prepare a steamer for steaming. Drain the glutinous rice and spread it out inside the steamer.
Steam the glutinous rice for 20-25 minutes or until translucent.
Boil coconut milk and pandan leaves with sugar and salt, stirring until sugar is dissolved, and remove from heat.
Then transfer the cooked glutinous rice into a bowl and stir in coconut-milk mixture.
Let rice stand and cover for 20 minutes or until it becomes a thick and sticky consistency. Your sticky rice is now ready.
Transfer the sticky rice on a dessert plate and top it with mango slices.
Drizzle the coconut cream and sprinkle with some sesame seed before serving.
